Hints

Below you will find information on (mobile) performance possibilities.
A large selection of silent films with live music is available to you. Please inquire according to your ideas for the theme, type of film music, and ensemble through the booking request (of course, completely non-binding): in this way, many of the most exciting silent film music scores have been created!
A wide range of different arrangements (from solo piano to instrumental ensemble and choir to orchestra) is possible depending on the room size, available instruments, and financial framework. Please get in touch with me early to discuss the details (film selection, creation of the film music, booking soloists, etc.).
Long-standing contacts also allow for screenings with some valuable historical silent film rarities from international museum vaults or collectors’ hidden treasures that you would not have access to. Of course, this includes secure transport to/from cold storage for the sensitive films.
The cinematic masterpieces will be presented at the reduced, appropriate silent film speed and in the correct silent film aspect ratio! Since these films are unique historical items loaned worldwide, early booking is necessary.
A binding commitment can only be made after confirmation from the relevant film rental company.
If multiple performance dates with the same program are booked together, there are also significant opportunities for financial savings. Fees, travel and accommodation costs, film rental fees, technical costs, etc. will be sent as an offer upon request.
Please use our contact form for your inquiry.
Mobile Performances

Technical Requirements
-
Standard power connection (16 A secured)
Distance from projector to screen: maximum 27 meters
Lights must not obstruct the projection beam
Screen
You can choose between 16mm and 35mm projection with screen sizes ranging from approximately 2 x 3 meters to approximately 13 x 19 meters. It should be noted that 35mm projections are significantly more complex than 16mm screenings and usually require several days of preparation, depending on the room.
For example, for a screen size of 4 x 5 meters, a free space including the stand feet of approximately 6.50 meters in height and 6 meters in width is required.
Other
Setup time: approximately 2 hours, including a test run (if there are other events or services between setup and the concert, we will need approximately 20 minutes without audience entry before the performance, as the screen needs to be adjusted and then removed). We work with the brightest projector with variable focal length available for rent, in order to project the film image fully onto the screen – without the commonly seen “slide borders”; as well as with a silver-coated screen that reflects surprisingly well, even in churches that cannot be completely darkened.
Artistic Requirements
Specifically for film music with organ:
The instrument should have at least two, preferably three manuals and a pedal, and ideally be equipped with a swell box.
Screen monitors must be able to be placed on or near the instrument.
Church Special

Events with mobile technology, specifically in churches.
General Requirements
Recommended start time: as late as possible (please consider daylight saving time), generally not before 8:00 PM.
It must be clarified with the clergy that a screen can be set up as centrally as possible in front of the altar.
During setup, a person with key authority and basic knowledge of the performance location (e.g., where the fuses are…) should be present.
Clergy, sextons, custodians, deacons, etc. should be informed about the project well in advance (potential overlap with religious times…).
Screen
In general, for example, for a “normal” church, a screen size of approximately 3 x 4 or 4 x 5 meters is sufficient for 16mm technology.
