Action:
The General is an action-comedy filmed in 1926, directed by and starring Buster Keaton. The film is set during the American Civil War and is based on the historically documented Andrews Raid of April 12, 1862. Train engineer Johnnie Gray single-handedly pursues his locomotive “The General,” which has been stolen by Union spies. With persistence, daring stunts, and ingenuity, he manages to reclaim both his engine and the affection of his beloved Annabelle Lee. The General is considered one of the most important comedies in film history.
