The technical execution of silent film projections is primarily in the hands of Joachim Steinigeweg, who has been working as a film projectionist for over 25 years. He specializes in historically accurate silent film projections, using the appropriate cache, image format, and reduced projection speed.
In addition, he is active on the board of Filmforum NRW, a member of the board of the renowned “Allerweltskinos,” and works as a film and organizational expert for the JFC Media Center, specifically responsible for the children’s film festival “Cinepänz” in Cologne.
His many years of experience and extensive network allow him to project rare historical copies from private collections, as well as from institutions, archives, and museums, that are otherwise difficult or impossible to obtain.
Joachim Steinigeweg also possesses basic technical equipment for mobile film screenings but can rent additional projection, monitor, and screen technology for special projects, enabling event organizers to offer silent film projects without further external support.
