He took clarinet and saxophone lessons with Alfred Bauer (City Theatre Trier) and at the Cologne University of Music. He studied jazz saxophone with James Towsey at the Cologne University of Music and also studied musicology at the University of Cologne.
He has participated in various workshops and masterclasses, including those with Dave Liebman, Peter Herbolzheimer, and Jiggs Wigham.
He has performed numerous concerts and productions (CDs, radio) and has had international guest performances.
