Peter Thomas

Born in 1968 in Fürstenfeldbruck, he began studying German philology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in 1980, as well as at the Latin Percussion School in Munich (graduating in 1992). He continued his studies at the University of Music and Theatre Hannover under Prof. Andreas Böttger, graduating in 1999.

He has been involved in world premieres and collaborations with composers such as George Crumb, Adriana Hölszky, Wilfried Kaets, and Steffen Schleiermacher. He has also taught at the University of Music and Theatre Hannover.

He has participated in radio, television, and CD productions with Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt and the Linos Ensemble in Cologne. Additionally, he performed world premieres with composers Harald Weiss and Anette Schlünz as part of the EXPO 2000 in Hannover.

He has held positions as a percussionist at the Lower Saxony State Theatre Hannover, the Oldenburg State Theatre, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, and the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. Since 2001, he has been a permanent member of Disney’s The Lion King in Hamburg as the 1st Solo Percussionist.
