Short and Sweet:
Prague, 1820: The student Balduin (Paul Wegener) sells his reflection for a large sum of gold coins to the mysterious Scapinelli. *The Student of Prague* is a German feature film directed by Stellan Rye, released in 1913. It is considered one of the few artistically significant German films made before World War I.
New cine-historical music for solo piano by Wilfried Kaets.
Alternative performance for cinema organ and piano.
The solo organ music is newly composed or improvised and is structurally inspired by the film music dramaturgy of the silent film era.
It particularly utilizes parts of the rediscovered piano score written by the pianist Joseph Weiss for the premiere.
